Ian was appointed Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Fertility Services Lead at the QE Hospital, Gateshead in August 1998. He trained in Liverpool as Clinical Research Fellow and Honorary Senior Registrar in the Reproductive Medicine Unit at Liverpool Women's Hospital under Professor Charles Kingsland and Jon Hewitt. At Gateshead, he has led significant developments including expanding treatment cycles from 60 to over 700 annually, introducing ICSI treatments, overseeing relocation to purpose-built premises in 2009, and leading the introduction of blastocyst transfer and time-lapse embryology in 2015. He served as HFEA designated Person Responsible for 22 years before stepping down in April 2021.

Vaideha completed his MBBS and postgraduate training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from the University of Mumbai in 1998, with research on the effects of Clomiphene on cervical mucus and ovulation induction. He was awarded MRCOG in 2004 and FRCOG in 2016 following further UK training. He completed specialist training in Reproductive Medicine through the Indian Council of Medical Research and consolidated his expertise as a Clinical Fellow at Newcastle Fertility Centre. Joining Queen Elizabeth Hospital as Consultant in Obstetrics, Gynaecology, and Reproductive Medicine in 2011, he provides comprehensive care from assisted conception through pregnancy and delivery, emphasizing continuity throughout the reproductive journey.
